We produce, process and export our own coffee in a pristine and enchanting setting located in the mountain range at the heart of the Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
The balmy temperatures resulting from the convergence of the ocean winds and the mountain breeze, result in an ideal climate for coffee production.
Our Approach
In the heart of the PenĂnsula de Nicoya, in beautiful Costa Rica, Cafetalera Monterromo has been dedicated to the sustainable production of coffee using modern agricultural practices along with the principles of the Costa Rican coffee tradition.
The precious beans of the delicious arabica coffee grow in deep fertile soils, surrounded by the mountain range and free flowing fresh water creeks.
Our Story
We are third generation farmers of this Blue Zone area where the coffee is grown and have been in the business of farming for our entire lives. We are proud members of the local community that contribute to the protection of the environment through sustainable practices, and we treat our associates ethically and with much respect.
Our coffee experience is a Costa Rican tradition that dates back to our early years, when coffee was the main means of sustenance to the population of the agriculturally based rural economy.
Season
Our harvest season is from November through March and our coffee is available for purchase from December through April. The predominantly dry conditions allow the coffee to dry naturally and at an ideal rate.
